A Day in the Sharma Household
It was another peaceful morning in the Sharma household.
The moment anyone stepped into the house, they couldn't help but feel the warmth it carried. At its heart lay a spacious open courtyard, where the golden rays of the morning sun poured in gracefully, while the monsoon rains transformed it into a mesmerizing sight. A beautifully carved wooden swing overlooked the courtyard, surrounded by lush green plants, polished wooden pillars, and timeless décor that carried generations of memories.
The ground floor housed a spacious living room where the family gathered every day, a serene pooja room where prayers marked the beginning of every morning, a large kitchen always filled with the comforting aroma of home-cooked food, the grandparents' cozy bedroom, and a well-maintained guest room where every visitor was welcomed like family.
A grand wooden staircase led to the first floor. One room reflected elegance and simplicity—Veda's room, while another radiated warmth with a touch of mischief—Akhila's room. At the very end of the corridor, however, stood a room unlike the others. Its heavy wooden door had remained locked for years, untouched by time, silently guarding a past no one in the house dared to speak about.

The Sharma house wasn't merely built with bricks and wood.it was built with love, traditions, laughter, countless memories, unspoken emotions, and secrets patiently waiting for the day they would finally come to light.
Their grandfather, Arnav Sharma, was a retired Army General who now worked as a government teacher. Every morning of his life began with a cup of hot tea, a newspaper in his hand, and a few adorable arguments with his wife. His entire world revolved around his wife, daughters, and granddaughters. He never truly approved of his sons-in-law,after all, what father easily accepts the men who steal away his daughters through love marriages? As for his grandsons, he loved them dearly too, even though fate had never given him the chance to meet them.
His wife, Shakuntala Sharma, was a devoted homemaker whose life revolved around caring for her family. Her greatest wish was to witness the weddings of her beloved granddaughters, a happiness she was denied when her own daughters got married. Every morning, she lovingly prepared tea for her husband, exchanged playful arguments with him—their own unique way of expressing love—then headed to the kitchen with Veda to prepare breakfast before sending both girls off to college. Evenings were usually spent laughing as she teamed up with Akhila to play harmless pranks on Arnav, while nights always ended with the entire family sharing dinner together.
There was one unspoken rule in the Sharma household—breakfast and dinner were family time. No matter how busy everyone was, they always ate together. It was the only part of the day reserved solely for one another. Another rule was strictly enforced—no phones at the dining table.
Well... that was a rule Akhila managed to break almost every single day.
And that was how another ordinary yet beautiful day began in the Sharma household.
